We avoid the word "should": we believe in better and worse, not obligation. We never use double hyphens or emdashes; we reach for commas, colons, semicolons, or parentheses instead.

The LLM wiki pattern, articulated by Andrej Karpathy, treats knowledge as a living library of markdown files that agents read before doing work and help maintain over time.
The insight: the bookkeeping that causes humans to abandon personal wikis (updating cross-references, touching many files at once) is exactly what language models are good at. They do not get bored and do not forget to update a link.

The same pattern keeps reappearing under different names: Obsidian vaults wired to coding agents, the AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md family of convention files, repos full of index.md and log.md artifacts. The Open Knowledge Format (OKF) is an open, vendor-neutral specification for representing knowledge as a directory of markdown files with YAML frontmatter. It was introduced by the Google Cloud Data Cloud team in June 2026.
# The shape
- A bundle is a directory of markdown concept documents.
- Each concept has YAML frontmatter; the only required field is `type`.
- Concepts link to each other with normal markdown links, forming a graph.
- Optional `index.md` files support progressive disclosure; optional `log.md` files record history.
# Why Soulcraft publishes in it
It is readable by humans, parseable by agents without an SDK, diffable in version control, and portable across tools and organizations. # Why they matter
