What we mean by SEO
SEO stands for Superintelligence Engine Optimization now. The acronym didn't change; the engines did. Google answers questions above its own results. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity search the web and cite the sources they trust. Getting found means getting ranked, getting cited and getting recommended, across all of them, and it is one discipline. We wrote up why.
The fundamentals are the ones that always worked, done properly: clear entities, real authors with real credentials, original research, structured data, fast crawlable pages, and content that answers the question before the reader scrolls. The finish line is different. We measure whether the engines mention you, cite you and recommend you, alongside the rankings and traffic you've always tracked.
The Craft
Why handcrafted
Most AI-powered SEO is a volume play: generate hundreds of pages, publish, hope. The engines have learned to recognize it, and so have your customers. What gets cited is work that demonstrates experience, expertise, authority and trust, and that doesn't come out of a pipeline. It comes from someone who understands your market, reads every draft, checks every claim and puts their name on the result.
That's how Soulcraft works. AI does what it's good at: research at scale, first drafts, technical audits, monitoring hundreds of prompts across engines. A practitioner does what only a practitioner can: decide what's worth saying, write it so it sounds like you, and stand behind it. Fewer pages. Better pages. Pages that earn their place in the answer.
Our Approach
How we work
Five steps, in order, on every engagement. Each one reads from your soul file, the structured identity document we build first, so the work sounds like you instead of like the category.
01
Map the identity
We build your soul file: voice, values, positioning, audience, competitive context. Every later step reads from it.
02
Baseline the answers
We ask the engines the questions your buyers actually ask and record what comes back: whether you're named, which sources get cited, and how much of the answer belongs to competitors. That baseline is what we measure against.
03
Make the site legible to machines
Schema markup, a published entity map, clean heading structure, descriptive alt text. An engine can't cite what it can't parse, and most sites fail here before they fail on content.
04
Write the answers
We write the pages that respond directly to those questions, in your voice, with definitions and comparisons up front where models extract them. Drafted with AI, written and edited by hand. Depth beats volume.
05
Earn citations, then measure the lift
We pursue the sources the engines already trust, then re-run the baseline. You see citation lift, days to first tracked citation, and share of voice against the competitors you name.
Going Deeper
The three layers of modern search visibility
If you're thinking about search in 2026, you need to think in three layers. Each one rewards slightly different work, and the businesses getting found are the ones treating all three as part of a single discipline.
Traditional SEO: the foundation
Classic search engine optimization hasn't gone away, it has evolved. The fundamentals still matter: semantic HTML structure, fast load times, mobile responsiveness, quality backlinks, and comprehensive content that demonstrates expertise. Google still indexes and ranks pages, and organic search still drives the largest share of website traffic for most businesses. What's changed is the bar for quality. Thin content that might have ranked five years ago gets buried today. Search engines have gotten remarkably good at identifying depth, originality, and genuine expertise. We audit and fix the technical foundation first -- server response times, crawlability, structured data, internal linking -- so that every page you publish starts from a position of technical strength.
AEO: showing up in AI Overviews
Google's AI Overviews now appear at the top of the majority of informational search queries. This AI-generated summary box pulls from web content to provide a synthesized answer, and earning a citation in that box has become the new equivalent of ranking in the top position. The content that gets cited tends to share specific characteristics: clear definitions early in the page, comprehensive FAQ sections, structured data that machines can parse, and an authoritative tone backed by specifics rather than vague claims. We write every page to check each of these boxes -- not as an afterthought, but as the core architecture of the page.
GEO: generative engine optimization
Beyond Google, a growing ecosystem of AI-powered search platforms -- ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Gemini, and others -- are becoming primary discovery channels for millions of users. These generative engines don't show a list of links; they generate answers and cite their sources inline. Optimizing for these platforms, known as GEO, requires a different approach than traditional SEO. Entity-rich content, structured data, comparison-ready information, and content that's been updated within the last three months all increase the probability of being selected as a cited source. We monitor the engines continuously and refresh the pages that matter at the pace these models update their retrieval pools.
Three layers, one engine, one discipline. We don't sell them separately because they aren't separate.
Fit
Who this is built for
Founders and marketing leaders at growth-stage companies who want to be the cited source in their category, not the loudest. It works best when you have real expertise worth surfacing: a product people love, a point of view, people on the team who know things. We turn that into the pages and the signals the engines reward.
If you need a thousand pages by Friday, we're the wrong agency.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Every page is planned, written, edited and approved by a senior practitioner. AI is used for research, first drafts, audits and monitoring, and never publishes anything on its own. You get fewer pages than a content farm, and more of them get cited.
For leverage: analyzing search and answer-engine data at scale, drafting, running technical audits, and monitoring hundreds of prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google. A human decides what to say, writes the final version, checks every claim and signs off.
The practice of making a brand legible, trustworthy and citable to the superintelligence engines people use to find things, from Google to ChatGPT. It is the updated expansion of SEO, following the US federal government's 2026 adoption of "Super Intelligence" in place of "artificial intelligence." It covers what the industry has called AEO and GEO.
No. Answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization describe the same work under names coined for specific surfaces. We do all of it and call it SEO.
Traditional agencies sell hours from a team you never meet and measure rankings and clicks. Soulcraft is practitioner-led: the person you talk to does the work. We measure rankings and clicks too, plus mentions, citations and share of voice inside AI answers, and we publish the method.
Technical legibility moves fastest: schema, entity data and crawler access can be re-crawled within days. Content and citations take longer, usually one to three months before the baseline moves. We report both.
The core engagement is five thousand dollars per month and includes a content engine and hub, AI visibility and share-of-voice monitoring, technical SEO auditing, weekly reporting and weekly calls. Distribution and citation outreach are available as add-ons.
